Meet the Maker ~

Hello! My name is Amy, and I live in the PNW with my husband and our 4 kids.

I spent my early years on a farm in NE Washington, where my parents farmed wheat and hay, in addition to raising pigs, cattle, horses and many other small farm animals. When I was 12 my family sold our family farm and moved to a 2000 acre cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon, where we raised cattle, along with a menagerie of other farm animals. I grew up milking cows and goats, raising 4-h sheep, and helping out around the ranch.

I have always loved crafty hobbies, and started sewing when I was about 7 years old. At 14, I started designing my own purses, and always dreamed of creating my designs out of leather. I never thought it would take me 22 years to realize that dream.

Jumping ahead - In between getting married and starting a family, I finished a bachelors degree in graphic design in 2016, and a masters in integrated marketing communications in 2018. Instead of jumping into a marketing and design career working for another company, I decided to start my own business. I launched Grissom Integrated Marketing and Design in 2014, and have enjoyed creating brand identities for small business owners all over the US. In 2019 I needed to scratch the itch that had been haunting me for years, so I started working with leather, and quickly became addicted. I formally started Cattle Drive Leather Company in March 2020, and I haven’t looked back. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes me.
